Old School Fantasy | Classic RPG Illustration

Bring the spirit of classic tabletop RPGs and vintage fantasy adventures into your generations.

Old School Fantasy is a style LoRA for Krea 2, inspired by the visual atmosphere of classic fantasy illustrations, tabletop roleplaying games, and illustrated adventure books from the 1980s and 1990s.

The style combines expressive painterly brushwork, bold silhouettes, textured shadows, rich earthy colors, and dramatic lighting with a distinctive illustrated finish.

From mysterious wizards and sinister necromancers to wandering adventurers, charming dwarves, and enchanted forests, this LoRA brings a nostalgic fantasy atmosphere to a wide range of subjects.

Key Features

  • Expressive, angular painterly brushwork

  • Strong silhouettes and readable compositions

  • Rich color palettes and atmospheric lighting

  • Stylized characters with personality

  • Medieval fantasy environments and magical effects

  • A blend of vintage RPG charm and modern illustrative energy

Base Model: Krea 2

Trigger Word: oldschoolfantasy

Suggested LoRA Strength: 0.7–1.0

Start at 0.8 for a balanced result or use 1.0 for a stronger stylistic influence.

These are suggested testing values rather than universal optimal settings.

Prompting Tips

The LoRA works particularly well with character-driven fantasy scenes, atmospheric environments, magical encounters, and narrative compositions.

Try describing the character's appearance, pose, environment, and lighting rather than stacking too many additional style keywords.

Example prompt:

oldschoolfantasy, an elderly wandering wizard wearing weathered robes, carrying a wooden staff and an old leather satchel, standing before the entrance of an ancient ruined temple, mysterious atmosphere, warm torchlight contrasting with cold blue shadows, expressive composition

About the Style

This LoRA aims to capture the spirit of classic fantasy illustration rather than reproduce the work of any single artist.

Perfect for fantasy characters, original RPG concepts, tabletop campaigns, illustrated storytelling, and nostalgic adventure artwork.
