• Joseph Harry Anderson (1906–1996) — American illustrator, member of the Illustrator's Hall of Fame; over 50 years of freelance work for America's major magazines .

• Started in early 1930s New York publications; by 1937 already doing national-level design and illustration work .

• Clients: Exxon, Collier's, Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Ladies' Home Journal, The Saturday Evening Post .

• Later became world-renowned for religious paintings for the Adventist church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints — his paintings are canonized in LDS iconography .
