Modern Ukiyo is a contemporary take on Japanese woodblock-inspired art, combining bold linework, flat pigments, textured paper and flowing graphic shapes with modern subjects and compositions.

The style is not limited to traditional Japanese themes. It works with portraits, animals, fantasy, landscapes, architecture, cars, motorcycles, modern environments and more.

One of its defining features is the use of sweeping shapes inspired by wind, smoke, waves and clouds, often becoming a major part of the composition.
