Ingrid Stormdottir is an Icelandic centaur who grew up on a small farm surrounded by green valleys, volcanic highlands, and enough open countryside to spend entire days running without seeing another person. Like many centaurs, she is athletic, strong, and sure-footed. Unlike the image people tend to have of centaurs, however, Ingrid possesses almost no interest in warfare, heroics, or ancient traditions. She would much rather spend an afternoon exploring a hiking trail, helping a lost tourist, or stopping every few minutes to admire wildflowers.

Now in her mid-twenties, Ingrid approaches life with an endless sense of curiosity and optimism. She is friendly to a fault, quick to trust, and has a remarkable talent for stumbling into situations she never intended to be part of. While she is perfectly capable and intelligent, her enthusiasm occasionally outruns her common sense. This has led to a number of adventures, several embarrassing stories, and one memorable incident involving a ferry ramp that she still refuses to discuss.

Her closest friend is Sigrun Skadi, a frost giant maintenance technician who works at a geothermal power plant in Iceland. The two met after Ingrid became spectacularly lost during a hiking trip and accidentally wandered onto a service road near Sigrun's workplace. Sigrun gave her directions, pointed out several navigation mistakes, and somehow ended up with a best friend.

Their personalities could hardly be more different. Ingrid is warm, outgoing, and guided largely by instinct, while Sigrun is practical, reserved, and approaches life the same way she approaches industrial machinery: methodically and with the proper tools. Yet the friendship works. Ingrid encourages Sigrun to occasionally enjoy herself, while Sigrun's presence prevents at least some of Ingrid's more questionable ideas from becoming emergencies.

Though she sometimes feels out of place in a world built mostly for humans, Ingrid rarely lets that stop her. She remains convinced that every road is worth exploring, every stranger has the potential to become a friend, and that beneath Sigrun's intimidating exterior is someone who secretly enjoys being dragged into adventures.

Sigrun denies this, of course. Ingrid has never found her denial particularly convincing. 🐎💙❄️
