MiniMax H3

Minimax H3 Forgotten World's – Retro Fantasy

An experimental style LoRA for Minimax H3, created to push the model toward the look and atmosphere of classic 1970s–1980s fantasy cinema.

The goal is not simply to add film grain or a vintage color grade, but to encourage the visual language of older fantasy productions: practical costumes, theatrical sets, matte-painted environments, strange creatures, distant worlds, ancient ruins, dramatic landscapes, soft analog photography and that slightly imperfect cinematic texture of old adventure films.

It works especially well for:

  • Retro fantasy and high fantasy

  • Dark fantasy

  • Ancient and forgotten worlds

  • Elves, knights, wizards and mythical creatures

  • Desert kingdoms and lost civilizations

  • Otherworldly landscapes

  • Retro sci-fi / science-fantasy

  • Practical-effects and old movie aesthetics

  • Surreal fantasy environments

Trigger

Optional trigger word:

retr0Fantasy

The trigger does not have to be used. The LoRA can work without it, depending on the prompt and workflow.

Experimental

This is an experimental LoRA, so results can vary significantly depending on the prompt, sampler, LoRA strength and the rest of the workflow. I am still testing how far the style can be pushed while keeping motion, characters and environments coherent.

It is intended more as a creative style tool than as a perfectly predictable preset.

Best results are achieved in 16:9. 9:16 is currently not recommended

Workflows & Examples

Workflows are included in the attached material.

The example videos are also included so you can see the type of motion, atmosphere and cinematic look I was targeting. You can use the included workflows as a starting point and adjust them for your own prompts and settings.

Feel free to experiment with the LoRA beyond traditional fantasy as well, some of the more interesting results can appear when combining the retro-film aesthetic with science fiction, surreal environments or completely different subjects.
