Hidden Metal Courtyard

Hidden Metal Courtyard, a monumental enclosed courtyard constructed almost entirely from polished silver metal and surrounded by multi-level arcaded buildings. In the foreground, a floor assembled from large irregular rectangular metal panels descends toward the central pool, with highly reflective surfaces mirroring the architecture and sky. The middle ground is dominated by a broad dark pool filled with liquid mercury. At the rear right of the pool, a thick rippling waterfall of mercury pours from a tall inclined rectangular metal wall into the basin. On the left, a broad straight metal staircase rises toward an upper terrace connected to the surrounding arcaded levels. Low cylindrical metal structures stand on stepped platforms along both sides of the pool. The left and right building wings are articulated by repeating tall arches, narrow columns, deep arcades, and upper galleries. In the center background, additional arched passages and a taller central architectural section close the courtyard. Bright daylight produces sharp highlights and complex reflections across the polished chrome architecture and the rippling surface of the mercury
