HAIR is an SDXL Concept Slider for controlling hair length and the amount of head hair present in an image.
Recommended range: −4 to +4.
Negative weights move toward shorter-hair solutions, progressing through short and cropped hairstyles into shaved and bald appearances. Positive weights increase hair length, generally reaching around waist length on typical photoreal SDXL checkpoints.
HAIR behaves semantically rather than as a literal centimetre-by-centimetre length control. As the weight changes, the checkpoint may move through different coherent hairstyles while satisfying the requested direction. This is particularly noticeable with textured and natural hairstyles, where intermediate weights can produce substantially different but plausible hair configurations.
The slider also works with explicit hair prompting. For example, prompting “extremely long hair” while using a positive HAIR weight can push length beyond what the slider normally produces by itself.
Suggested weights
−4: shaved / bald end of the range
−2: short / cropped hairstyles
0: checkpoint baseline
+2: long hair
+4: very long hair, typically around waist length
Exact results depend on the checkpoint, seed, subject and existing hair language in the prompt. Extreme weights may produce stronger stylistic or structural changes.
No trigger word is required. Adjust the LoRA weight to move along the direction.
