The ElDorado National Axess is a heavy-duty 35 or 40 foot low-floor transit bus available in Canada and the United States. A BRT-styled version was introduced in 2010. By 2015, the traditionally-styled Axess appeared to have been phased out, with ElDorado making the BRT front end standard.
In addition to conventional diesel and compressed natural gas, the Axess was available with a diesel-electric hybrid drivetrain. The first of such buses were delivered to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Shuttle Service in 2005.
Coincident with the use of EPA 2010-compliant engines, the rear was redesigned to accommodate the emissions systems. The top of the rear flares upwards and the louveres above the engine are accented by an arch that is continued on the engine door. This rear design is shared with ElDorado's other low floor transit buses.
