Strange Reverie

Strange Reverie is a painterly storybook style built around elegant surrealism, theatrical light, elongated forms, dream logic, and a touch of the beautifully strange. It works across people, creatures, interiors, fantasy, fashion, and more contemporary subjects, often pulling them toward expressive silhouettes, unusual proportions, glowing windows and moons, strong negative space, whimsical narrative moments, and that slightly uncanny feeling of stepping into a half-remembered dream.

It started off in one direction and then turned somewhere in the middle. Roughly 40 checkpoint runs and some 1000 image tests later... TADA... I made a thing.

Recommended strength

A good working range is 0.5 to 1.5, with 1.0 giving strong, reliable adherence to the style. (I have been quite happy with higher strengths on this LoRA. If you look at the example images I built a strength randomizer to just plug a random strength between 0.5 and 1.5 to an image prompt for testing. Those resulted in some of my favorites.)

At lower strengths, Strange Reverie leaves more room for the base model and a more conventional image appearance to come through.

At higher strengths, it pushes harder into the LoRA's stranger qualities: more exaggerated forms, elongated silhouettes, stronger stylization, surreal composition, and more pronounced dreamlike character. Lighting from sunbeams to moonbeams is all over this LoRA so play around with the light as well.

Quick guide:
0.5 to 0.8: light influence, more freedom
1.0: strong Strange Reverie look
1.2 to 1.5: stranger, bolder, more extended

Using it

Include StrangeDaal in your prompt and describe the scene you actually want. You do not need to over-prompt the style. The LoRA is designed to bring its own visual language to a wide variety of ideas.

Try it on quiet portraits, strange little stories, fantasy creatures, moonlit rooms, fashion, animals, surreal everyday situations, or something completely outside the examples. Some of my favorite results have come from giving it a strong idea and seeing where the reverie takes it.
