Standing as the 23rd installment of the Precure franchise, this series pairs a detective motif with a nostalgic setting in 1999. Eclipse Shadow is the dread-inducing, amplified form of Arcana Shadow, having fully unleashed her shadowy reserves. Bearing massive wings and an imposing great scythe, she evokes the grim visage of a reaper—striking a silhouette reminiscent of Gundam Deathscythe—and overwhelms Cure Answer, Cure Mystic, and Cure Eclair with overwhelming power. True to the meaning of "Eclipse" (solar/lunar obscuration, a fall from grace), she embodies a complete, breathtaking descent into darkness.
