🗂️ EZ Organizer – ComfyUI Workflow

Created by Me – a filmmaker & AI workflow designer. This smart tool automatically organises your image files by date, sorting them into a clean folder structure (Year/Month/Day). Perfect for taming chaotic photo archives, camera dumps, or any folder full of untitled images – all with one click.

🧩 Overview

This workflow uses my custom ImageDateOrganizer node to:

  • Scan a source folder (and optionally its subfolders) for image files.

  • Read the date created or EXIF date from each image.

  • Copy or move the files into a structured hierarchy: Year/Month/Day/.

  • Limit the number of files per day (to avoid overcrowded folders).

  • Remove empty old folders after the operation.

Everything is packed into a single custom node – clean, fast, and foolproof.

1️⃣ Required Models & Prerequisites

No AI models are needed – this workflow works entirely based on file metadata (dates).

⚠️ Installation Required: This workflow uses my custom ImageDateOrganizer node. You must install it first:

bash

git clone https://github.com/saeedkhalili/ComfyUI-Saeed-Nodes

Place the cloned folder inside your ComfyUI custom_nodes/ directory and restart ComfyUI.

3️⃣ How It Works (One‑Click Photo Organisation)

  1. Set source folder – enter the path to the folder containing your images (e.g., C:/Users/.../Camera Dump/).

  2. Choose operation – select move (files are moved to the new structure) or copy (files are duplicated).

  3. Set optional limits – decide whether to scan subfolders (recursive), choose the calendar system (Gregorian or Jalali), and set a maximum number of files per day (to avoid huge folders).

  4. Toggle cleanup – enable remove_empty_old_folders to automatically delete empty source folders after the operation.

  5. Run – the node processes all images, reads their dates, and organises them into a neat folder structure.

A summary string is output, showing how many files were processed and where they were moved/copied.

6️⃣ Advanced Settings (Optional)

ParameterDescriptionsource_folderThe path to the folder you want to organise (e.g., C:/Pictures/Unsorted/).recursiveIf true, the node will scan all subfolders inside the source folder.calendarChoose between Gregorian (default) or Jalali (Persian calendar) for date‑based folder names.max_files_per_dayLimits how many files can be placed in a single day folder (e.g., 4). Useful for spreading out large batches.operationmove – files are relocated; copy – files are duplicated (preserves originals).remove_empty_old_foldersIf true, any source folders that become empty after moving files will be deleted automatically.

📦 Final Output

After running, your images will be organised into a clean, date‑based folder structure like:

text

Year/
  └── Month/
        └── Day/
              └── image1.jpg
              └── image2.png

The node also outputs a summary string listing the number of files processed and any issues encountered.

Why I built this: As a filmmaker and VFX supervisor, I deal with thousands of reference images, dailies, and camera captures. Manually sorting them by date is a nightmare. This workflow does it in seconds, giving me a clean, searchable archive that makes finding the right shot a breeze. No AI models, no fuss – just pure organisation. I hope it saves you as much time as it saves me! 🗂️✨
