The Early Works of Masamune Shirow

Fans of Masamune Shirow (士郎 正宗, Shirō Masamune) know he's had two major phases in his career: early and late. His late works are typified by wet, glossy textures, rich colours and elongated anatomies. Fine for some, but not my cup of tea. It's his early work -- in 80s-90s manga works like Appleseed, Dominion Tank Police, Black Magic M-66 and of course Ghost in the Shell -- that I grew up with, and am deeply fond of. These loras are sort of my love letter to Shirow's early work, named after his early-90s art books, 'Intron Depot'.

LORA NOTES

• Main trigger for both loras is sh1row

• Strength of 1.0 works well

• They're strong loras so various checkpoints work fine; I like what RAMTHRUST (v2.2) and miaomiaoHarem (v1.4) do with them

• Works very well with turbo loras like this one. If anything the simplification these loras cause helps the style a little, let alone the added speed boost

• Shirow's early works often use traditional media, watercolor \(medium\), marker \(medium\), etc. so give those a try

• General quality tags are not recommended but it's your life, you do you

VERSIONS

I've done something a little different here and released two versions. Pick your favourite. Version notes are to the right. In summary, \\\ MAIN is a later epoch and therefore more committed to the Shirow style, including certain Shirow-isms that may require extra tags to compensate for. /// ALTER is an earlier epoch; it has a bit more of its own style, but it's a very appealing one, and it's more flexible.
