prompt positive: oldscan, monochrome, analog scan of a [your prompt], texture grain.

prompt negative: color

This LoRA is designed to reproduce the visual characteristics of an old scanned photograph: whites, grayscale tones, faded blacks, and visible film/scanning grain. To achieve the intended look, prompts should focus on brightness, darkness, lighting conditions, and tonal relationships rather than specific colors.

Do not use explicit color information when describing clothing or objects.

Instead of specifying colors such as red shirt, blue jacket, or green dress, use terms like light, dark, pale, or deep/dark tones to describe the appearance of clothing. For example:

  • light shirt instead of white shirt

  • dark jacket instead of black jacket

  • light-colored dress instead of red dress

  • dark trousers instead of blue trousers

This approach gives the LoRA more room to produce its characteristic faded, monochromatic appearance.

For outdoor scenes, emphasize natural lighting and bright atmospheric conditions. Useful phrases include sunlight, direct sunlight, bright daylight, clear sky, and similar descriptions of strong natural illumination. These elements help create the characteristic bright whites and washed-out tonal range associated with an old scanned image.

For indoor scenes, make greater use of black, dark surfaces, and dark materials. Dark walls, dark clothing, dark fabrics, deep shadows, and other black or near-black elements are particularly effective. The LoRA's distinctive faded-black effect is one of its strongest visual characteristics.

In general, think in terms of light vs. dark rather than hue.
