Mooira Minakis grew up on a dairy farm about an hour outside Lisbon, where her family has raised cattle for years. Her father, Stavros Minakis, left a tiny mountain village in Greece shortly after Mooira was born, after falling in love with Portugal's mild winters and lush green countryside. "The cows will be happier," he'd insisted. As it turned out, so was everyone else. The Minakis family settled into Portuguese farm life so completely that most locals barely think of them as "the Greek family" anymore.
Being a minotaur on a dairy farm has never struck Mooira as strange. To outsiders it seems ironic, but to her it's no different than a sheepdog helping shepherd sheep. The cows are simply part of the family business. She knows every one by name, talks to them while mucking stalls, and swears they gossip about the humans when nobody's listening. Her broad shoulders and natural strength make the physical work easy, but she genuinely enjoys the quiet rhythm of sunrise chores, fixing fences, and spending long days outdoors.
Whenever she gets time away from the farm, Mooira heads into Lisbon. That's where she met Raposa Silva, a cheerful Portuguese fox girl who seems constitutionally incapable of sitting still. The two immediately bonded over hiking, cycling, beach trips, and exploring forgotten little cafés tucked away in old neighborhoods. Raposa provides the spontaneity, while Mooira is the dependable friend who somehow always remembered to pack snacks, sunscreen, and a first aid kit "just in case."
Despite her size and strength, Mooira is remarkably gentle. She's the sort of person who apologizes to doorframes after bumping into them, stops every walk to pet friendly dogs, and instinctively offers to carry everyone else's bags without making a fuss about it. She isn't shy exactly, but she's happiest laughing around a campfire, riding forest trails, or watching a summer sunset with friends after a day spent outside.
