Nox

Nox is a living shadow. Exactly how old she is remains indefinable, but she has the unfortunate habit of looking like a horror story's final boss while possessing the temperament of a remarkably considerate neighbor. With silver eyes that gleam from skin so dark it swallows light, she is quiet, reserved, and rarely feels the need to fill a silence. When she does speak, it is with a soft, complete sincerity that catches people off guard; where others expect cryptic prophecies or eldritch warnings, they usually get practical advice, genuine concern, or a polite apology for startling them by just existing nearby.

Nobody knows what Nox actually is. The prevailing theory is that she’s a severed shadow that somehow grew a soul. Nox finds this as reasonable as any other explanation, though she secretly suspects she might be a sleep paralysis demon who walked off the job and left her memories behind.

Despite the ominous aesthetic, she isn't particularly mysterious. She pays her bills on time, avoids unnecessary drama, and possesses an almost supernatural calm in a crisis. While everyone else is panicking or arguing, Nox is usually the one quietly fixing the problem.

That reserved exterior hides a fierce loyalty and deep compassion. She rarely expresses affection out loud, preferring small, thoughtful gestures and simply showing up when it counts.
