Thos block is for primitive style transfer. Or, to be more acurrate, you are generating new image with desired style and trying to make it look like reference.
This block is also suitable for "creative" upscale for images and restoration of blurry, low res and such images. Controlnet preprocessors are much moe omnivorous, but not almighty. Trial and error is the way here.
As one of good use cases for this is to generate complex scene with bigger model (online service with qwen, z-image etc) and after use Illustrious checkpoint to make that scene look like generic or specific anime style, maybe even with characters and specific concepts, that are not possible in bigger models. Online services does not allow nsfw for free :( after all.
