Linda Tchaïkowsky (Soda)

Created in 1985 by the brilliant Philippe Tome, the ‘Soda’ series follows the adventures of Lieutenant David Solomon (hence the nickname Soda) in the New York Police Department, a man with rough but rather effective methods. A police officer to the outside world, he pretends to be a pastor in front of his mother, who suffers from heart problems.

From the third episode, ‘Thou Shalt Not Kill’ (VF : Tu ne buteras point), we are introduced to Corporal Linda Tchaïkowsky, a tall, robust Black woman who becomes Soda’s partner and, as the series progresses, his occasional girlfriend. She is just as keen on heavy-handed police tactics as her superior.
