Lanolin Aries is a sheep girl with soft curls, oversized glasses, and the hesitant demeanor of someone who always seems halfway through working up the courage to say what she’s thinking. Like many sheep girls, Lanolin is naturally timid and gentle, easily flustered by attention and prone to shrinking slightly when conversations become too loud or confrontational. But beneath all that nervousness is a surprisingly stubborn streak.
She isn’t a follower by nature, even if people often assume she is. Lanolin has strong opinions about the things she cares about, especially farming, sustainability, and rural life. The difficult part is simply getting those opinions past the wall of self-consciousness long enough to say them aloud. When she finally does speak up, though, people are often surprised by how thoughtful and quietly determined she can be.
Lanolin studied agricultural engineering with the dream of someday opening her own wool farm, an ambition she’s held onto since childhood. She’s fascinated by sustainable grazing systems, animal welfare, textile production, and the mechanics of modern farming equipment. Her notebooks are full of carefully sketched barn layouts, rotational pasture plans, and ideas for small inventions that would make farm work easier. Her mother finds the idea of a sheep girl becoming passionately interested in wool production slightly strange in a “well, I suppose somebody has to” sort of way, but supports her wholeheartedly anyway.
Socially, Lanolin feels safest around close friends like Mira Thistlewhisk and Lena Mossclaw, whose warmth helps draw her out of her shell. But her feelings toward Fawn Hartley are softer and far more complicated. The two share an almost comical level of mutual shyness, quietly caring about one another while both remaining utterly incapable of making the first move.
Lanolin has the energy of someone who apologizes to furniture after bumping into it, then turns around and gives a thirty-minute lecture about soil nutrient management with absolute conviction if you accidentally ask the right question. 🐑📚🌾
