On the eve of the test run of their father’s matter/anti-matter reactor experiment, the Power siblings become caught in the battle between the reptilian alien Snarks who wish to steal it for use as a weapon, and equine alien sorcerer Aelfyre Whitemane, who wishes to warn Earth about how his species’ home planet was destroyed by a similar device. When Whitemane is fatally injured, he gifts each of the four Powers his control over one of the “Four Fundamental Forces” and tasks them to finish his mission to “protect the Earth”. Bookworm Julie gains his power over acceleration, becoming Lightspeed. While many dismiss her for being a hero whose only active power is flight, which is common and thus lame, fans and good writers remember her power is actually super speed, a strong candidate for the most busted single power not capable of arbitrary effects (e.g., magic or super-science).

Made with 22 pics of her in costume, and 24 of her in other clothes, all taken from the original run (most before the end of Snark Wars). Printing technology of the time and costs made backgrounds disproportionately simple or flat. I took advantage of this to clean a lot of images since it was easy. Read the series if you haven’t already: It’s a well written, surprisingly mature, and dark take on its concept (it was set in New York when Times Square was an open air drug den and did not pretend otherwise).
