Real Hallucinations – Photorealism on Illustrious

Here is a new model merge focused on bringing photorealism to the Illustrious XL architecture! This model aims to combine the superior anatomy and composition of Illustrious with realistic skin textures and lighting.

It handles realistic portraits, cosplay-style generations, and 2.5D semi-realism very well. Give it a try.

Compatibility note:

This checkpoint has been merged and tested in ComfyUI, which is what it is primarily optimized for. Results in A1111 WebUI, Forge, and other platforms may differ and are not officially tested, optimized, or supported.

In theory, you should be able to drop the model in whatever program you choose and have no issue; however, I can’t guarantee that. For best results, please use this model in ComfyUI and play with the settings. My recommended parameters are meant for guidance, not gospel.

Recommended settings:

• Resolution: 832x1216, 1216x832, 1024x1024 (standard SDXL buckets)

• CLIP skip: 2

• Steps: 30+

• CFG: 3.5 – 5 (Keep this lower for better realism; high CFG may burn the textures)

• Sampler: DPM++ 2M SDE - Karras or Euler a

Prompting:

Because this is based on Illustrious XL, use a lot of tags! Even though this is a photorealistic model, it still understands Danbooru tags better than natural language sentences.

• Positive: Use tags like photorealistic, realistic, raw photo, depth of field alongside your subject tags.

• Negative: Start small. If the model drifts too much back into anime styles, add tags like anime, cartoon, sketch, flat color, or 3d render to your negative prompt.
