Fenta’s Story

Fenta Morrow had never imagined she’d spend most of her life in an office, but life had a way of setting its own course. In her early years, she had dreams of being a travel writer, filling notebooks with vivid descriptions of faraway places she longed to visit. But reality had other plans.

Born and raised in a quiet midwestern town, Fenta was the eldest of three, always the responsible one. When her father fell ill during her college years, she left school to help her mother keep things afloat. What was supposed to be a temporary job as an administrative assistant at Hargrove & Pierce Consulting turned into a career spanning more than two decades.

Now in her mid-forties, Fenta was a fixture at the company. She handled schedules, kept track of reports, and knew the quirks of every executive she assisted. She had a quiet efficiency that made things run smoothly, though few ever noticed—except when she wasn’t there.

Her life outside of work was simple. A small apartment, a cat named Oscar, and a collection of second-hand travel books she still flipped through late at night. She told herself there was still time, that one day she would finally take that trip to Italy or Japan. But for now, there were emails to answer, meetings to organize, and another workday to get through.
