The original manga actually predated Sailor Moon anime, however, when Sailor Moon became super popular, the Wedding Peach anime was created to capitalize the success of Sailor Moon, with character redesign to looks more like Sailor Moon.

It's made a scene for a bit in 1995 before faded into obscurity. A curious piece of anime history.
