TL;DR:
Flux.3 Klein is in the generator. The new open-weights image model from Black Forest Labs, for text-to-image and editing.
Up to 10 reference images. Combine characters, products and scenes in one edit.
Two versions. Klein for speed. Klein Base when you want steps, CFG and a negative prompt.
FLUX 3 Image is here too. BFL's API-only model, with 4K output and text in multiple languages.
Klein has been quietly live in the generator since October 15. FLUX 3 Image has been there since October 2. We never told you about either. Fixing that now.

What Klein does
FLUX 3 Image Klein is a 5.6B open-weights model from Black Forest Labs. One model does both jobs: make an image from a prompt, or edit the images you give it.
Text-to-image. Prompt it like any other model.
Edit with a sentence. Add an image, describe the change, and Klein makes it.
Up to 10 reference images. Pull a character from one, an outfit from another, a room from a third.
Small enough to run at home. The int8 files run on an 8 GB GPU. Grab them from the model page.
Klein or Klein Base
Klein is the distilled one. 16 steps, no guidance, about 6x faster than Base. Fixed settings, so there's nothing to tune. Start here.
Klein Base is the full model. 50 steps at CFG 3.5 by default, and you get steps, CFG and a negative prompt to play with. Slower, more control. Try Klein Base.
Switch between them in the model picker. Same prompt, same references.
FLUX 3 Image, too
BFL's other new image model is FLUX 3 Image. It's API-only, so there are no weights to download and it doesn't take LoRAs. What you get instead:
Up to 4K output, in aspect ratios from 21:9 to 1:2.
Text that reads right, in multiple languages, straight from the prompt.
Editing with up to 10 ordered references.
Show us what you make
Credit for both models goes to the Black Forest Labs team. Post what you make with them to Civitai. We want to see where you take them.
Open the generator. Stack some references. Show us what Klein can do.
