Why we're doing this
Two weeks ago we announced the second front door. Last Wednesday we actually opened it. Civitai.com became the SFW side, Civitai.red became the freedom-first side.
At the same time, we moved the site from one data center to another. A big move, and not an easy one. It gives us a lot more control over how we run things, and it drops our costs enough that it genuinely matters for us being able to keep going.
We tried to land both of those at once because doing them separately would have meant two disruptive weeks instead of one. Mostly it worked. The last few days have been the lumpier part.
If you've been on the site the last couple of days, you've probably felt some of it. Pages that took a beat to load. The occasional "wait, where did that go?". Some of it was the kind of thing you only find out is broken after a million people try to use it.
The team has been heads-down the whole time. Most of the loudest problems are fixed. A few quieter ones are still being chased down. We'll keep going until it's right.
When I announced the update, I said something special was coming. This is it.
Starting today through Sunday May 3rd at 11:59PM UTC, all Blue Buzz rewards on the platform are doubled. That means every rewardable activity you do, daily login, reacting to images, uploading a model, earning creator compensation on generations with your models, pays out at 2x.
You'll see a 2x BUZZ banner at the top of the site while the event is live. Click it for a breakdown of your full multiplier. Membership bonus stacks on top of this, so Members will see a number higher than 2x.
