By Saul Leiter. A black and white photograph from the side, titled "Woman in a grocery store" from the 1940s, featuring a young woman standing in the middle of the frame, holding a bag of groceries in one hand and a newspaper in the other. she is wearing a sleeveless white dress and high heels, with her hair styled in a short bob cut. her expression is neutral, and she appears to be looking directly at the viewer. the store is filled with boxes of apples and a large clock hangs above her, adding to the vintage feel of the image. the lighting is dim, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the overall color palette is muted, with a focus on the woman's figure and the produce in the background.
