Digital painting of a slender black fox spirit sitting in a dark autumn forest at night, full body, side view. Instead of a tail, a long curving stem grows from its back, ending in a large glowing orange physalis lantern with a papery veined husk, lit from within so that a tiny curled-up sleeping fox cub is visible inside as a silhouette. The fox has glowing white eyes in a solid black face, long ears tipped with pale orange fur and thin dark legs fading into smoke. Two smaller unlit physalis lanterns hang from bare branches above, and dark red leaves drift down through the air. The lantern light falls softly on the forest floor and on the fox's chest. The palette is black and deep olive with glowing red, orange and warm yellow. Painterly soft brushwork with sketchy reddish lineart, fine vein lines on the husk, warm inner glow and soft light spilling onto the nearby leaves.
