vtxcosymarkers, Under a single enormous autumn leaf, a fox holds its tail carefully out in the rain so that a firefly can shelter in the dry curl of its fur. The fox is soaked from ears to paws, yet watches the glowing visitor with an almost embarrassed tenderness. Bring the leaf canopy close above their heads; its translucent veins glow amber, while heavy raindrops collect along its pointed edge. The firefly illuminates one wet whisker and a tiny patch of rust-colored fur. A low intimate woodland view, with the two creatures isolated against blurred blue-green rain. Transparent watercolor washes and delicate colored-pencil marks make this small act of generosity feel monumental.
