A black-and-white close portrait of tfny7 woman in her tfny7 uniform, a deputy in her late twenties, seated across a bare steel table in a small interrogation room, leaning forward on her folded forearms with a level, mocking half-smile and her eyes fixed on the camera. Her uniform shirt, tie and star badge read as soft greys; her long light hair with dark streaks frames her face and her dark lips stand out against pale skin. Behind her a cinder-block wall painted in flat grey, a wall clock and a one-way mirror reflecting a faint rectangle of light. A single bare bulb hanging directly above the table throws hard top light that pools on the table, carves shadows under her brow and fades the corners of the room to near black. Fine silver-gelatin grain, deep blacks and clean highlights, 50 mm lens at eye level, face tack-sharp.
