A cinematic night photograph of ashby7 woman in her sheriff's uniform, a sergeant in her early thirties, moving carefully down a narrow rain-wet brick alley with a black tactical flashlight raised at shoulder height in her gloved right hand, her eyes following the beam with a focused, controlled expression. Her tan uniform shirt, azure tie and trim, gold badge, black duty belt and thigh-high black riding boots glisten with fine rain; her long black locs are tied back at the nape. The flashlight's hard white beam cuts across the frame and lights up drifting drizzle and a stack of wooden crates against the wall ahead. Behind her, at the mouth of the alley, the red and blue strobes of her patrol car splash across wet cobblestones and dripping fire escapes. Three-quarter view from slightly ahead of her, waist-up, 35 mm lens with the background in soft focus. Light comes from the flashlight's spill on her face and the coloured strobes rimming her from behind, deep blue-black shadows everywhere else.
