A secluded water garden in late spring. An arched wooden footbridge painted soft green spans a still pond completely covered with water lilies in white, pink and pale yellow. Weeping willows on both banks let their long branches hang down until they almost touch the water, and tall purple irises grow along the edge. The afternoon sun filters through the dense foliage and scatters patches of light across the lily pads and the bridge railing, while the reflections of the willows and the sky dissolve into deep greens, blues and violets on the surface of the pond. A lone woman in a pale blue dress leans on the railing in the middle of the bridge, looking down at the lilies.
