A lone astronaut in a bulky white spacesuit stands waist-deep in a vast field of red poppies at the very end of a summer day. The helmet visor is raised, revealing a young woman's face turned upward in quiet wonder. Above the low horizon of distant poplar trees an enormous pale full moon rises into a sky that fades from apricot and rose near the ground to deep violet blue at the top, where the first stars appear. The last warm sunlight comes from the left and catches the folds of the suit, the scuffed boots and thousands of poppy petals trembling in a light breeze. A small black-and-white sheepdog sits beside her and looks up at the moon as well.
