A vast hourglass stands at the left edge of an empty plain; inside its lower chamber, a tiny house rests beside a dune while a narrow stream of sand descends from above. Its long cast shape reaches across the otherwise open right half. Blue-violet connects the hourglass supports, lower glass rim and the far end of the ground shape. Mandarin orange crosses the upper sand mass, lower dune and the nearer ground plane. Their dark reddish-brown overprint forms a broad curved cradle beneath the lower chamber, expressing the weight of this enclosed world. White paper makes the glass openings, the clear neck around the falling sand and most of the sky. Keep the two bulbs joined at one neck and the house securely placed on the lower sand. Two broad glass cuts and three dune cuts suffice. Dense matte ink and sensitive edges; no realistic glass highlights, tiny windows, falling grain particles or lettering.
