a dark, intense and haunting close up portrait. A pale, gaunt man's face fills the frame, his eyes sewn shut with thick black thread, thin dark red lines running from each stitch down his cheeks like tears. His skin is cracked and dry, covered in streaks of grey ash, and a rough, heavy hood frames his face in deep shadow. The lips are thin and slightly parted, with a small drop of dark blood on the lower lip, and fine scars run across the forehead and jaw. The background is almost completely black, with faint drifting ash and tiny red sparks catching a narrow, cold light from the left side. Strong contrast, sharp texture and detailed linework. Centered, tight composition. The palette is black, grey, bone white and crimson, with a silent, solemn and unsettling atmosphere.
