clarity, a blurry low-light front camera video still at dusk, her phone held low at arm's length, wide horizontal frame. A beautiful Latvian woman of twenty-four with a narrow face, high cheekbones and long straight platinum blonde hair leans in close on the right side of the frame, slightly out of focus, head tilted, heavy-lidded eyes and dark berry lips half lost in shadow, her face soft and dim against the bright sky. She wears a black long-sleeve top, one arm reaching down out of frame toward the camera. Behind her on the left, a winding pale blue-grey flagstone path disappears into an autumn forest of tall dark trunks and rust-red and orange leaves, a small wooden signpost beside it. The light is flat, grey and fading, the sky blown out white through the treetops. The whole image is dark, murky and smeared, heavy noise reduction melting every texture into soft watercolour blur, crushed blacks, a cold cyan-teal cast over the shadows and the path, faded orange in the leaves, a faint haze glowing around the trees. Eerie, dreamy, lonely, like a paused vlog.
