Two broad concrete staircases rise on opposite sides of a pair of illuminated drink vending machines, each staircase disappearing into a pitch-black rectangular opening. Thick ivy covers the inner railings and spills across the steps. The machines stand tightly together beneath the central wall, one pale gray and the other black, their glowing display windows revealing rows of bottles and cans. Greenish light spreads across the stained walls and dirty tiled floor. Black graffiti marks both sides of the stairwell, and a loose cable hangs from the ceiling in a long loop. Crushed packaging, scraps of paper, and a tipped black plastic crate litter the foreground.
