Ink and watercolor wash illustration, two samurai locked in the instant before a strike within a dense bamboo forest at dawn, pale mist curling low around their feet, thin shafts of cool blue morning light cutting through the tall green stalks above them, loose ink linework capturing the sharp diagonal tension of their blades and robes mid motion, watercolor bleeding softly into muted jade and grey around the edges of the composition, a scattering of disturbed leaves frozen in the air around them, dramatic, tense, precise, fleeting, quiet violence, disciplined, cold focus.
