An extreme macro horizontal photograph captures a trifoliate leaf branch inside a lightless mangrove forest during a thick haze. The leaflets reveal a complex, lobed topography and crystalline morning dew reflecting refractive glints. A solitary, piercing flare from a nearby spotlight generates incandescent highlights on the water's surface and stygian voids within the dense foliage. Coarse film grain imparts a raw, visceral quality. The chromatic range is an intense contrast of brilliant teals, bone-whites, and deep indigos.
