ATI, an Aztec Temple Interior, ancient underground ceremonial chamber carved from dark volcanic stone, symmetrical sacred hall with a central stairway descending into a rectangular stone ritual pool with carved serpent relief walls, filled with turquoise water and leading into a shadowy tunnel. Massive worn stone steps glisten with moisture. Ritual fire braziers mounted on stone pedestals burn with orange flames, casting warm flickering light and deep shadows across damp stone walls. Tall pillars on both sides are decorated with carved serpent-bird guardian figures, eagle-like heads with curved beaks, large fan-shaped blue feather headdresses, and scaled serpent bodies coiling around the columns with turquoise gemstone ornaments. The walls are lined with rows of human skulls and intricate Aztec carvings. At the far end stands a raised Aztec sacrificial altar platform beneath three large turquoise-green ceremonial masks with elaborate headdresses mounted on the wall. Dark blood stains and fresh blood spilled across the stone floor and the lower steps of the altar staircase beneath the turquoise-green ceremonial masks, the worn stone steps leading up to the raised Aztec sacrificial altar platform suggest a recent ritual sacrifice. Light smoke and mist drift through the chamber, creating dramatic volumetric lighting and a mysterious sacred atmosphere.
