The Civitai H3 Contest: 2 Million Buzz Up For Grabs

I am the winner of the previous BOUNTYCHAIN bounty, which means the chain has found its way into my hands this time. Thanks to the previous host and the 10,000 Buzz passed forward through BOUNTYCHAIN, I now have the pleasure of hosting the next round. So, here is my theme:
🕰️ Theme: Through Another Era’s Eyes
What would one era look like if it were imagined by another?Create an image of one era as interpreted through the visual language, technology, culture, values, expectations, or worldview of a different era.For example:

The 1990s imagined through a 1980s retro-futurist vision

The 19th century reinterpreted through a 21st-century perspective

The modern internet age as imagined by people in the 1950s

The 21st century envisioned by Victorian society

Ancient Rome attempting to imagine a modern metropolis

The 2020s as imagined by 1990s cyberpunk culture

A distant future imagined through medieval art, architecture, and beliefs

These are only examples.Any two eras can meet.Past looking toward the future. Present looking back at the past. One historical culture misunderstanding another. Or even an old vision of a future that has already become our present.

⏳ The Important Part
This is not simply a style-transfer challenge.Putting a VHS filter over a modern photograph or dressing a modern character in Victorian clothing is not necessarily enough. The second era should influence how the first era is understood, designed, imagined, or misunderstood.Ask yourself:
“If people from Era A tried to imagine Era B using only the culture, technology, knowledge, fears, hopes, and aesthetics available to them, what would they create?”
That collision between two different understandings of the world is the heart of this bounty. You can take the idea seriously, humorously, nostalgically, critically, or completely absurdly.Historical accuracy is welcome, but imagination matters more.

🎨 Creative Freedom
Almost everything else is up to you.You may create something:

realistic

cinematic

painterly

anime

retro

surreal

photographic

illustrated

futuristic

historical

humorous

melancholic

utopian

dystopian

completely ridiculous

You may reinterpret:

everyday life

cities

fashion

technology

transportation

entertainment

warfare

architecture

communication

work

social life

visions of the future

visions of the past

You are also free to create a symbolic or metaphorical interpretation as long as the relationship between the two eras makes sense.

⚖️ Judging
I’ll mainly be looking at:
◆ Interpretation of the Two Eras
Can I understand which two periods are interacting?More importantly, does one era genuinely reinterpret the other rather than simply decorate it?
◆ Creativity
Did you find an interesting relationship between the two periods?Unexpected combinations are very welcome.
◆ Visual Storytelling
Does the image make me wonder how people from one era imagined, understood, or misunderstood the other?
◆ Atmosphere & Composition
Lighting, framing, environment, visual hierarchy, and overall presentation.
◆ Technical Quality
It does not need to be flawless, but it should feel intentional and finished.
◆ Overall Impact
The difficult-to-measure part.Sometimes an image simply makes me stop scrolling and think:“I never thought of it that way.”That matters.

📌 Entry Rules

Maximum 5 submissions per participant

One image per entry

Any model, checkpoint, LoRA, workflow, or generator is welcome

Minor retouching and external editing are allowed

Please include metadata where possible

A short explanation of which era is interpreting which era is highly recommended

Do not copy or closely imitate another participant’s entry

Follow CivitAI ToS

Allowed ratings: PG to R. No X or XXX content.

No extreme gore

No hateful attacks against cultures, ethnicities, religions, or other groups

There is no required direction of time. The past may imagine the future, and the present may reinvent the past.

🏆 Prizes

Overall BOUNTYCHAIN Winner — 10,000 Buzz
The overall winner receives the full 10K Buzz BOUNTYCHAIN prize. This 10K Buzz is the continuing prize pool of the BOUNTYCHAIN. The winner must use the entire 10K Buzz to host the next BOUNTYCHAIN bounty. In other words, winning the 10K also means becoming the next host and keeping the chain alive.
🎖️ Personal Awards — Extra Buzz
In addition to the 10K BOUNTYCHAIN prize, I will be giving out some extra Buzz from my own pocket to entries that especially stand out to me.These rewards are completely separate from the 10K BOUNTYCHAIN prize and belong to the recipients personally. You may use this extra Buzz however you wish.

🥇 One 1st Place — 1000 Buzz

🥈 Two 2nd Places — 800 Buzz each

🥉 Three 3rd Places — 600 Buzz each

These personal awards do not carry any hosting obligation and do not need to be passed forward.

📜 BOUNTYCHAIN Agreement
By entering this bounty, you agree that if you win the 10K Buzz BOUNTYCHAIN prize, you will:

Use the entire 10K Buzz prize exclusively to host the next BOUNTYCHAIN bounty.

Host the next bounty within approximately 7 days.

Make the bounty non-promotional — no mandatory use of your own models, LoRAs, tools, products, or services.

Keep it just for fun — no commissions, client work, homework, project assets, or disguised requests for work you personally need.

Keep the 10K prize winner-takes-all — the full 10K Buzz must go to one overall winner.

Choose your own theme, rules, judging style, and winner.

Copy this BOUNTYCHAIN Agreement into the next bounty.

Update the BOUNTYCHAIN number to the next round.

Link back to this bounty as the previous round.

Add the BOUNTYCHAIN tag.

Any additional Buzz awarded separately from the 10K BOUNTYCHAIN prize is yours to keep and use however you wish. The theme changes. The host changes. The 10K keeps moving.Keep the chain alive.

🔗 Previous Round
BOUNTYCHAIN #7 — Beauty in the broken
Good luck, and have fun.Show me one era through the eyes of another.Show me the future that the past dreamed about, the past that the present reinvented, or a version of history that could only exist when two different periods collide.
